Stein: So every time a student said something particularly observant, I would place the statue on that student's desk. Stein: One day, at a parent-teacher conference, there was a student that was particularly naughty. Stein: His mom and I were yelling at him and he was crying. Stein: He yelled to me "I hate you, I hate this class, and I hate that statue." Stein: It seemed like in slow motion when he got up and smashed that statue into a million pieces.
